We are seeking leaders in the Des Moines metro area to serve on the following task forces.
Each task force requires its own set of skills, abilities, and experience.
In addition leaders and members of the task forces should have a passion for the task and be willing to recruit others to the work at hand.
Leaders of each group are team builders and people organizers.
We know there are people like this for each of these task forces.
Communication
- Develop ideas for a name for the project
- Work with Education Task Force to provide materials
- Develop a project Web Site
- Work with local media to publicize what we are doing
Education Awareness Task Force
- Provide information materials and speakers to the congregations of Metro Des Moines
- Information needs to focus on
- homelessness in general, families in particular
- our response to it as regards the two homeless shelter sites
Funding and Grant Writing
- Seek out a variety of funding sources
- Metro ELCA congregations
- Major gifts program from ELCA congregations
- Members of our ELCA Metro congregations
- Thrivent, other grant sources
- ELCA
- Work with site managers to develop budgets
Liturgy and Celebration
- Develop congregational resources to kick off the work (litanies, suggested hymns, etc.)
- Create closing celebration focusing on
- The shelters
- Congregations working together
- Future partnerships
